"We see the information security sector growing rapidly as security threats escalate and dependency on IT systems increases for both multinational and domestic enterprises," says John Andrews, President of Evans Data Corp. "This rapid growth only heightens the security vulnerabilities that are present as the end to end delivery of IT solutions mature."
Other findings from the Spring 2006 Emerging Markets Development Survey of more than 400 developers in the Emerging Markets:
- Twenty-nine percent of developers in the Emerging Markets cite social engineering and non-adherence to policy as the most difficult aspect of security implementation. In North America almost 42% of developers say social engineering is the most difficult aspect of security implementation.
- The number of respondents who report they haven't lost information (40%) is less in Emerging Market countries than in North America.
