The results reveal that an overwhelming number of respondents perceive cybercrime as a major business risk, specifically the possibility of their sensitive information such as customer, patient, and employee data being stolen by crimeware.

Touch screens have been available for some time and are found in a variety of fixed and portable devices, but it was the launch of Apple’s iPhone that refocused the public’s attention on them as never before. Shipments in 2007 of touch screen-based mobile devices increased 91% over 2006, and ABI Research forecasts that revenue from the global touch screen market for mobile phones and other handheld devices such as MIDs, UMPCs, and PNDs will reach $5 billion in 2009.

Regulatory reforms are gaining momentum worldwide, reaching record numbers this year, finds Doing Business 2009 - the sixth in a series of annual reports published by IFC and the World Bank. The new report identifies 239 reforms between June 2007 and June 2008 that make it easier to do business in 113 economies.

Almost three-quarters (74 percent) of executives believe procurement issues are a high priority at their companies, yet about half (49 percent) say that the procurement function in their companies focuses too much on cost reduction instead of value creation, according to a survey of almost 600 global procurement and C-level executives by KPMG LLP, the audit, tax and advisory firm.

Executives around the world overwhelmingly favor developing economies over the more established global powers such as the United States, Europe and Japan for job opportunities in today's economy. Sixty-four percent feel that Brazil, Russia, India and China (the BRIC nations) offer the best career options, compared with 22 percent who selected the United States and just nine percent who selected other developed economies such as Western Europe and Japan.
